Success Alone!

This is an almost everyday conversation with my sister. We both never really understand why people are selfish with helping other people succeed. I mean I'm not saying give them your secrets and ideas and future projects but help a person out. Some advice, some tips, some direction, some support, that's all people really want. Then you actually find people who want you to be successful just not as successful as them. Yes fair enough I understand, it's always nice being known as the smartest, or the most successful, the wealthiest etc, but how will giving someone some tips or giving them a helping hand stop you from being all those things? I personally think people are selfish with their success. They don't want people around them to succeed or they can succeed just not as much as them. 

Why is that? I don't really understand myself. Maybe it's jealousy or envy or cruelty or just wanting to always feel better and higher than someone else. I don't know if this is in my nature or not because I seem to support all my friends where I can, I have made an inspirational motivational blog to help those who are feeling helpless because I believe that everyone should succeed in life. Also I'm studying medicine and so is my sister so in order for us to be great doctors I believe we should be willing to help anyone who needs help or asks for it not just in terms of saving their lives but also in their every day things, their goals and aspirations too. Which we try our best to do. My boyfriend has a big heart so that also keeps me grounded and goes to show that if people like myself, my sister and boyfriend and many people out there that I know can just give a helping hand and support and inspire, why can't other people do it too? I'm always left in shock when some of the people I support don't support me back knowing very well how much I support them. I don't mind because I at least do have a solid support structure so I'm set but what about those people who don't? 

Another thing that drives me crazy is when friends don't support each other, like we're friends but we in a competition to see who'll make it to the top first. Now there's healthy competition that's more of a 'that's how we motivate each other and give each other goals yet still push each other to succeed'. Now that's fine but those friends who literally don't support you when you support them or when they shrug off your projects and goals knowing very well how much it means to you. That I will never understand. I think if people who are succeeding in their path and their purpose in life could just support and guide and lend a helping hand to those who need it all of us could succeed. I always say that success is never selfish. Success is not only receiving but giving too. 

I don't know about you guys but I not only want to be successful but I also want to be an inspiration, a role model and a mentor to someone or many people. It makes me feel good to know I've helped people or someone, even one life makes a difference. All the riches in the world can never outweigh having a good heart and helping those in need of help. 

So I leave you with this, for those of you who are selfish with success and never support people on their ideas and plans, if you were in need of help would you want someone else to treat you the way you treat those who need your help? If no then why do you treat others that way? If yes well then I commend you.

"I am an upcoming speaker...I have successfully changed the people I have spoken to so far, through my knowledge of life and again people who read my blog gave me a positive feedback. Through one of my posts Purpose and Identity many people have been saved many did no realize, how important that is, so after reading that blog they realized how important it is to know who you are and where you come from... most importantly to know that your creator formed you for a reason and that is the reason why we are still alive.."

What success are you yet to achieve or want to achieve? "Success I still want to achieve... it is obviously to finish writing my book... a book that will have a powerful message of course."

What is success? "I truly believe that success is not letting others define who you will be or what you will be in life. I believe you need to fall in love with yourself so that you are confident in achieving your very own best.  It’s about trusting in God and the process of accomplishing your dream that has a purpose in life. It’s about using your failures and turning them into victories. Your only enemy is yourself. You have two choices in life: wake up and chase your dreams or carry on sleeping and keep dreaming about them. Do something today that your future self will thank you for."

What success have you achieved? "Success doesn't always have to be the bigger picture. Each and every small achievement and blessing I have till now is a success for me. My success is the little achievements I make in a day, week or month, whether it is a new business venture or something as simple as an email of appreciation from a reader. I've been very blessed to be a fashion blogger and student with international exposure and to meet and work with many people in the fashion industry, so for now that is the greatest success I've achieved."

What success are you yet to achieve or want to achieve? "I really would love to make an impact in the fashion industry in South Africa with the international exposure I have. I also would love to make a difference in people’s lives and the less-fortunate community through the fashion industry. Our country has so many beautiful, intelligent and ambitious people that are interested or are in the fashion industry that could help make the difference in our community. There are so many different ways to teach and reach out to people in the community, we just need a new and creative way to do it. Fashion is one of the approaches I would take in life to make an impact in the community and I trust that God will guide me in achieving this in the future."

Infect the world with Positivity!

You have the ability to infect people in a positive or a negative way. So choose wisely whether you want to affect someone positively or negatively because at the end of the day if you chose to be positive then you're the one who ends up winning because you have changed someone else's life in a positive way. It's so easy to be negative but because you chose to be positive and affect and infect someone in a positive way, you have won and have conquered that day, you chose the hard way and not the easy way of being negative and in turn changed someone else's life. That on it's own is an achievement and is a success that you have achieved in a day. 

We need more people on this earth to be positive doers and not just talk the talk or make others do it, we need to set an example and spread positivity day by day, stranger to stranger. We dream of happiness, world peace and so forth, why dream when we can make it a reality everyday just by being positive and kind and helpful to the next person. In my opinion I think that's all it takes.

What I know at #23

• Life is too short.
• I know who I am, I know my Identity and I know that God is my author and finisher. God will forever be my number 1 no matter what.
• I am not popular or 'cool' and that's okay. I don't have time to get everyone to like me or to talk to me. I don't wake up every morning with the aim of making as many friends as I possibly can. I have better things to do and that's to live my life and achieve my dreams.
• It's the little things that matter most.
• The past is history, there's no future there so stop looking back and talking about what's already happened. Look to the future.
• Know when to let go.
• I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
• Change is inevitable, embrace it.
• What you have and what you own does not make you YOU!
• People come and go. You need to decide who you want to stay and who should permanently leave your life. Value your friendships, but those who don't make an effort in your life, Kindly open the door and bid them farewell forever. CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS WISELY. There is a Chinese proverb that says "Show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are."
• Be a blessing. Be kind.
• Learn to FORGIVE not for their sake but for your own.
• Thinking of doing something and actually doing something is 2 different things. Think then Do. Don't just think, DO!
• Failure happens, it's not the end of the world. Before success there is usually failure. Embrace it, learn from it.
• You have your life in your hands. You want to live a certain life? You have the power to make that happen.
• It's always easier to think negatively, but you need to always CHOOSE to think positively. Don't let your thoughts control you. Control your thoughts!!
• What you think you become!
• The power lies within you.
• Family is everything! I repeat FAMILY is EVERYTHING!
• Not everyone is out to get you but you need to know how to differentiate them from those who are. Keep your eyes open.
• You need to love yourself.
