Austin's Road To Success:

Name: Austin Mpho Malema

Occupation: "I am a Film Editor, Video Editor and Photographer."

Goals: "Man I have many goals, my son was born recently and one of my main goals is to raise him in the right way and that he learns to turn his hobbies into a job. I also want to own my own post production company where we can cater to anyone's post production needs."

What is success? "My definition of success is when one has a family around them who support them in what they do, when you walk into a room and people who do not know you personally acknowledge your work (your work is more important than you). For me success is defined by the work one has put out and the recognition the work gets."

What success have you achieved? "My biggest success was the birth of my son, look he is a blessing to me. After varsity in 2013 the film I worked on was nominated to represent South Africa at the student Oscars, we made it to the top 9. We won the Golden Horn (SAFTA) for best student film. I got featured on the cape Argus for my photography. That is some of the success I have achieved."

What success do you want to achieve? "I still am to open my post production company as I still love working in post production. I still want to sell some of my photos to a few private buyers. If I can have a spread on a lifestyle magazine or newspaper based on my work and how far it has come then I am successful. The last one would be making the riches. Money makes the world go round and without it how can I buy that crib somewhere in the north."

Tessa's Road To Success:

Name: Tessa Gabriel

Occupation: "Going to School and starting to be a Social Influencer." 

Goals: "I would really like to graduate. The main goal is to just be proud of myself, at the end of time that's the only thing that really matters. You could run a huge multinational business and people will say you're successful. I personally think that everyone who is happy with their life is successful. Acceptance is a huge part of success."

What is success? "Success is not only about money. Your goal could be money and I would totally understand that. But I will tell you one thing if you only focus on money you're not going to succeed. You need to make contacts (networking) and not only be about the business life, being informal now and then is not bad at all. The informal part of you will make people trust you more and just make them confident with whom they are working."

What success have you achieved? "I reached 14k followers on Instagram and have worked with a lot of companies including designing my own bikini and photo cases."

What success do you want to achieve? "I would like to start my own business but since I'm still not considered as an adult (I'm 16 years old) I can't. I'm planning on starting something for myself as soon as possible and it may or may not succeed in the end but I will at least have a lot of experience. To become really successful you need to fail sometimes. Giving up is not something I support at all."

Name: Twala Tawela Ng'ambi

Occupation: "Radio host on KFM, Model, Founder of 'the house of Twala', Architecture Student, Illustrator, Creative, and more recently 'Natural Hair Blogger' yes I'm a blogger now :) @iamAFROYALTY ."

Goals: "To challenge myself everyday, to challenge and inspire others to be great. I don't have conventional goals, my biggest goal is just to live a life of passion."

What is success? "True success is contribution, knowing that you've made a difference, that you contributed to something greater than yourself."

What success have you achieved? "Success is different for everyone, some may look at me and think, "Wow, she has her own fashion line, she got into commercial radio at 20, was given reigns of one of the biggest shows in the Western Cape at just 22 years old, (all this while still being a full time Architecture Student at UCT) now that's success.". Although I see the value of my achievements I don't measure my success by them. I measure my success in the people who's lives I've impacted, that one person who hears my story and is inspired and motivated to keep going."

What success do you want to achieve? "I'm a dreamer by nature, there is always something else I'd like to learn or try."

Gaynor's Road To Success:

Name: Gaynor van Rooyen

Occupation: Senior Clerk

Goals: "My ultimate goal in life is to be content. All the money and fame in the world pales in comparison to a happy, healthy life."

What is success? "Being satisfied with the decisions you've made and living life with no regrets. It might be easier said than done but it can be done." 

What success have you achieved? "I consider taking the leap of faith to start my blog as a success. I'm a very private person and somewhat of an introvert so it took a lot of guts to put myself out there. The feedback so far has been very positive and has brought me out of my shell so to speak, which motivates me to continue with my blogging journey. I've also completed two university qualifications and am considering going for my third one!"

What success do you want to achieve? "Success is very much linked to happiness for me. I want to try my hand at everything that interests me so that in the end I can truly say I've used my God given talents to the full. I want to continue building my brand, educating myself even more and travel the world while doing it. I'm very lucky to have a like-minded, loving, supportive husband who is my biggest motivator so the sky is the limit. The following Steve Jobs quote is my inspiration for achieving my life goals:

Goals: "My goals in life is to become a highly successful business woman, I would like to expand my fashion label into an international phenomenon and also be listed on Forbes top most successful female entrepreneurs in Africa, I want to become BIG, FAMOUS, SUCCESSFUL! The sky is truly the limit for my Empire!"

What is success? "Success to me is being someone that doesn't have to introduce himself or herself because people already know who you are. Success is being respected and proving that what you have is a result of hard work and determination."

What success have you achieved? "Many! I started my business when I was 21, this is something that I am extremely proud of because being this young in business has taught me so much to achieving real success; I am also one of the youngest established fashion designer owners and businesswomen in South Africa. I have met so many influential people in my industry that have inspired my success, and just being an inspiration to women that look up to my fashion label is a success on its own."

What success do you want to achieve? "There is so much on the agenda. I work really hard and I am strong headed, I am determined to showcase at Mercedes-Benz Fashion week soon. I also want to hit an international market, expand my business into another product/service and invest into property.
Besides travelling the world, starting my own TV show and taking over the fashion industry there is so much on my list that you will just have to wait and see."

Tara's Road To Success:

Name: Tara Johannisen

Occupation: "Accessorises Fashion Planner at an online Fashion Company by day, but ultimately a Fashion Activist and Lifestyle Influencer daily and via my blog, trend Soirée."

Goals: "Honestly, I think goals are overrated, I never understood them when I was a kid and I still don't. My goal is just being able to pursue the lifestyle and career that I am able to do every day. Ultimately, I'd rather never want to stop dreaming, it's through this creative outlet that allows so many opportunities and success."

What is success? "Personally, success is contentment, being happy in what and who you are. I believe that there are 3 vital spheres that needed to be considered in order to have balance. Mentally, constantly feeding your mind with knowledge and always learning be it through people or books this is imperative to longevity and existence. Enriching your life with the people that matter the most, those who value you and who will offer positive criticism, I live by it, La Familia  is the most important thing. And lastly, and the one that probably requires the most attention but often gets neglected, your health, without you valuing your body and soul by constantly nourishing and taking care of it, you are probably unfit to reach the success everyone desires and to enjoy the simple pleasures of this life. Ultimately, I strongly believe that success is parallel to change!"

What success have you achieved? "This is a really difficult question to answer, I feel like I'm constantly striving for success. I am possibly reaching milestones of success on this life journey as I go along. If I'd highlight successful events in my life thus far, it would probably be the continuous support of my family and friends. The success of having a blog, being able to meet and collaborate with brands is an invaluable. The vast experience of building a brand and the friendships made is an additional enrichment in my life. I base my success on the people in my life, right down to the loyal readership that trend Soirée has."

What success do you want to achieve? "I'd really like my trend Soirée to become a fashion household name so that people will be able to appreciate and understand my brand aesthetic. I wish to inspire others through my art, that a simple lookpost or written post be able to speak volumes. I duly believe that fashion  is not only a lifestyle but it's a self-expressive art form and movement that is able to speak to people. Invariably having a voice to speak through fashion."
