What is success? “For me, success means going after something you want and not stopping until you achieve it, being willing to work hard, removing any ‘safety nets’, being confident in yourself and your abilities, putting in the extra effort, and understanding that success does not happen overnight. What have you already achieved? “Having met and being able to interview so many African designers already has really been an incredible achievement.”

What do you want to achieve? “Basically my answers to question 3!”

Occupation: “Ivana is a Marketing and Advertising Strategist and Astra is an Executive PA.

We are also the co-bloggers of It’s a Brunette Kinda Thing.”

Goal in life: “To inspire people to be the best possible versions of themselves.

To become successful in our careers and to be different and extraordinary at what we do.”

What is success? “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing you will be successful.”

What have you already achieved? 

• “Since we have defined success as happiness, we feel as though we are very successful in life already! Although we have a lot to still achieve and we dream of even greater success, we are so proud of the women that we are today.
• We are both in very special, long-term relationships. (Ast has been dating her man for 6 and a half years and V for 7 and a half years.)
• We have graduated with degrees and Honours and have done so with great merit. Ast has completed her Honours in Industrial Psychology and Ivana has completed her BCom degree in Marketing Management with Honours in Brand Building and Communications. We are both very proud of all the hard work we have put in over the years.
• We also currently have amazing jobs that push us and inspire us every day!
• We have our blog, which can be quite tricky at times – because we both work full time too. But we are determined to make it special, because we truly have a passion for the things we write about.
• We take pride in everything we do and everything we have done and we always strive to do and be better, because one should never be satisfied, as that’s when you stop growing and learning life.”

What do you want to achieve? 

• “Once again, we take pride in everything we do and everything we have done and we always strive to do and be better, because one should never be satisfied, as that’s when you stop growing and learning in life.
• We hope to take our blog success to new levels and ultimately inspire thousands of wonderful ladies all around the world.
• We hope to achieve greater success in our careers and to be different and extraordinary at what we do.
• There are still so many possibilities out there and we are ready to take these opportunities on. We have high hopes and dreams for many things in life and we know that if we keep persisting, nothing is impossible if you just believe! It just depends on how badly you want something.”

Dale’s Road To Success:

Name:  Dale Anne Scogings

Occupation: Content Producer at Spree by day. Blogger by night.

Goal in life: “My life goals involve constant personal growth, happiness and contribution. My life goal is to be able to say at the end that I did my best to reach my full potential. And to wear Elie Saab, that would complete my life. Also to have a room in my home dedicated to rainbows and creativity.”

What is success? “I personally think that success is doing what you love every day. My career is very important to me purely because I love creating and the happiness that comes from having a job that allows me to do so. I believe that my idea of success is constantly changing and that one should never become complacent about achievements. There’s always something more to accomplish and be happy about.”

What have you already achieved? “Specifically; I've been awarded a Media24 bursary and I've graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism specializing in Communication Design. I've achieved a few other things too but to be honest, I look at every day as an achievement, whether it be a good blog post, meeting a new person, helping someone or learning a new skill or learning something new about your character – the little things.”

What do you want to achieve? “Oh my. The list is endless. I intend to complete a fashion styling course at some point soon, I hope to grow my blog. I hope to train to run a half marathon. I hope to travel to Versailles and I hope to eventually edit one of SA’s top fashion magazines. I also hope to turn my blog into a book one day; as well as potentially become a full time blogger and designer. And most importantly; I hope to never lose my blind optimism and inherent need to learn and grow.”

What attracted me to her blog was definitely the care 'freeness' of it, how she is so sarcastic and real and positive. I love it. It’s different.
